Jennifer Baird
Jennifer Baird brings a range of experience, knowledge and relationships to advance clients' federal government related objectives. Jenn has experience working on numerous House and Senate Commerce Committee issues, including spyware, intellectual property, telecommunications, and consumer protection. She has also worked in-depth on intellectual property and other Judiciary Committee issues, as well as Native American issues. She is skilled at drafting statutory language for bills, amendments and reports, as well as developing comments regarding proposed federal agencies' rules.
Prior to beginning her consulting career, Jenn worked as the Legislative Counsel for Congresswoman Mary Bono (R-CA). She assisted Congresswoman Bono with her work as a founding Co-Chair of the Congressional Caucus on Intellectual Property Promotion and Piracy Prevention and also with the House passage of the Congresswoman's anti-spyware bill H.R. 2929, "The SPY ACT." Prior to her employment with the Congresswoman, Jenn worked as a Law Clerk in the Intellectual Property division of the Senate Judiciary Committee, where she worked on the Satellite Home Viewers' Improvements Act; the Anti-Cybersquatting Act; and the Digital Theft Deterrence Act. In addition to her Capitol Hill experience, Jenn worked on numerous legislative issues while with the law firm of McGuiness & Holch (now reorganized as Holch & Erickson), based in Washington, D.C.
Jenn received her J.D. with a concentration in Intellectual Property, from the University of Baltimore, School of Law, and she holds a B.A. in English from Florida State University. Baird is a member of the Maryland Bar Association and is a pending candidate for the District of Columbia Bar Association. In addition to being an Amplify consultant, Jenn is also the principal in The Reagan Group LLC, based in Arlington, Virginia.
